NORFOLK LABOR COUNCIL BACKS DISTRICT ATTORNEY BILL KEATING FOR CONGRESS IN DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY

Calls Keating best candidate for working class, small businesses, jobs, and economy

(Quincy, MA) - Calling him the best candidate to fight for working class families, small businesses and economic growth, the Norfolk County Labor Council today endorsed District Attorney Bill Keating for U.S. Congress in the Massachusetts 10th District Democratic primary.

The Norfolk Labor Council’s backing comes on the heels of endorsements last week from the 22,000-member NAGE/International Brotherhood of Police Officers/SEIU Local 5000 and Pipefitters Local 537, as Keating continues to generate a great deal of momentum in the Democratic primary.

"As a District Attorney, Bill has seen firsthand the detrimental effects local communities and families face when people lose their jobs because a company outsourced its operations overseas or a small business failed because it couldn't get a loan", said Bob Rizzi, President of Norfolk Labor Council. "That unique experience of seeing firsthand the daily struggles of ordinary people has given Bill a view not too many people have and that's why he's going to be such a great advocate for the needs of our families here in Massachusetts when he goes to Congress.”

“Everywhere I go throughout the district I see the fear and concern in people’s eyes about their futures because of the lack of secure, good-paying jobs that allow people to provide for their families and save for retirement,” Keating said. “Economic security and job creation are the reasons I am running for Congress. I'll work with small business to cut the red tape so that they can get loans and start hiring people again. Wall Street got a big fat hand out from Washington even though they got us into this mess in the first place. It's long overdue that we invest in our communities again, and that starts by working with labor and small business owners to create jobs and jump start our economy."

"I’m honored to have the endorsements of working families throughout the 10th Congressional district and if elected to Congress I will champion their cause."
