IBEW-LOCAL 2222 LATEST GROUP TO BACK KEATING IN DEM PRIMARY

(QUINCY, MA) – The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers IBEW Local 2222 today endorsed Bill Keating (D-Quincy), Democratic candidate for Congress in Massachusetts’ 10th Congressional District. IBEW 2222 joins a growing list of influential organizations such as the International Brotherhood of Police Officers, National Association of Government Employees, SEIU local 5000, Machinists and Aerospace Workers, and the Norfolk labor Council to back Keating in this open seat race.

“Bill Keating understands that middle class families are having a tough time finding good paying jobs and people are struggling to make ends meet,” said Myles Calvey, IBEW-Local 2222 Business Manager. “Bill’s background as District Attorney makes him the best candidate to represent the interests of working people in this district because he has seen firsthand the effects that job losses have on local communities and families. “That’s why Bill is going to fight for good paying jobs, better wages, and make sure that both Washington and Wall Street are held accountable. “

“I am honored to receive the support of thousands of hard-working families in the district. I’m running for Congress because I want to make sure that their voices are heard loud and clear in Washington and their interests are represented”, said Keating. “I’ve taken on tough fights before, and if elected to Congress I will fight for the interests of our middle class, and that includes fixing the broken system in Washington, working with small businesses and labor to create good paying jobs, and providing economic stability for our middle class.
